Abstract :Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of desonide cream combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis in children. Methods A total of 82 children were randomly divided into a study group and a control group, with 41 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with levocetirizine oral solution orally, and the study group was treated with desonide cream combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin), while the control group was treated with desonide cream only. The EASI scores of the two groups were compared before and after treatment, and the effective rate was observed after 1 and 2 weeks of treatment. The safety of the drug was also observed. Results After 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, the EASI scores between the two groups were compared, and the differences were statistically significant (P=0.04, P=0.03). After 2 weeks of treatment, the EASI scores of the two groups decreased to varying degrees compared with those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P=0.00; P=0.00). After 1 week and 2 weeks of treatment, the effective rates of the study group were 68.29% and 87.81%, respectively, and the effective rates of the control group were 46.34% and 65.85%, respectively. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P=0.04; P=0.02). Conclusion In the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis in children, combined with topical polymyxin B ointment can enhance the efficacy of drugs, improve the clinical cure rate, and have fewer adverse drug reactions and high safety.
